 Samsung on 5th December announced the public release of One UI 7 beta program which boasts powerful AI features and simplified controls. While the One UI 7 is just a Beta program, we can see a lot of new features introduced that makes it a whole better than previous One UI's. Today I'm excited to show you all the cool features I have learnt over the few days and how you can get the Beta program on your Samsung Galaxy device. The Beta program offers a first look at an upgraded mobile user experience for greater personalization than ever before.

How to Install One UI 7 beta program into your Galaxy Device?

So before installing beta software, Samsung highly recommends you to back up your data to your computer with Smart Switch as unexpected behavior in beta software can cause data loss. So please do back up your data.

So far I know the beta program is now available to Samsung Galaxy S24 series. I'm not sure about other galaxy devices, I haven't tested them yet but if you do own a Galaxy device you can follow these steps to see if One UI 7 is available for your device as Samsung says "One UI beta program is open to all".

The One UI Beta Program is open to participants in China, Germany, India, Poland, the Republic of Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. So if you happen to be in one of these states or countries, today is your lucky day. Let's dive right into it, follow these steps to get One UI 7 beta program.

Step 1. Become a beta tester




Download the Samsung Members application from Galaxy Store or the Google Play Store. Log in to the application with your Samsung Account, and select the "Registration for One UI Beta Program" in the home banner or notices page to register.
Participation in the One UI Beta Program requires a Samsung Account. If you do not already have a Samsung Account, create one here

Step 2. Update the software



On your device, select "Settings > Software update > Download and install". The beta software will be installed and that's it, you can now enjoy the new One UI 7. 

 The One UI Beta Program is available only for specific devices, OS versions, and countries. Beta program period and compatible devices vary by country. One UI features can differ depending on the device enrolled in the beta program{alertInfo}


New Features in the One UI 7 beta

Advanced Writing Assistance Tools




Samsung has significantly upgraded its AI-powered writing assistance tools, making them more versatile and accessible across all apps. These tools now allow users to:
  1. Summarize content effortlessly.
  2. Check spelling and grammar on the go.
  3. Automatically format notes or text within any app.

These enhancements eliminate the need to switch between apps. Simply highlight text to access these features instantly.

Multi-Lingual Call Transcripts




One UI 7 beta introduces automatic call transcripts, activated when call recording is enabled. This feature supports 20 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, Hindi, Spanish, and more, ensuring accessibility for a global audience.

Revamped Lock Screen
The lock screen receives a significant overhaul with:
  1. Enhanced Notification Management: Prioritizes important notifications for quicker access.
  2. "Now Bar": A dynamic quick-access menu that highlights relevant activities, allowing you to interact with them without unlocking the phone.



Streamlined Design and Customization

Samsung has focused on reducing visual clutter:
  • Simplified Home Screen: Widgets and UI elements are redesigned to enhance customization.


  • Updated Camera Interface: The camera's Pro controls now feature a more intuitive manual settings menu, alongside a new zoom control for Pro video mode.



Knox Matrix Security Enhancements
One UI 7 sets new standards for security with Knox Matrix, which integrates:
  1. Trust Chain: A private blockchain for secure communication between Samsung devices.
  2. Enhanced Data Protection: Simplifies data recovery from Samsung Cloud, even if the original device is lost.
  3. Passkey Storage: Securely saves passkeys in Samsung accounts for seamless and safe logins.

Upgraded Maximum Restrictions
Samsung has expanded the Maximum Restrictions suite to offer:
  1. Blocking 2G cellular services for improved network security.
  2. Preventing automatic reconnection to unsecure Wi-Fi networks.
  3. Enhancements in Messages and Gallery apps, such as removing location data from photos and blocking hyperlinks and shared albums to prevent unauthorized access.

Theft Protection Features
Building on Android 15's capabilities, Samsung introduces:
  1. Theft Detection Lock and Offline Device Lock to protect your data even without an internet connection.
  2. Identity Check: Restricts security setting changes in unfamiliar locations until authentication is passed.
  3. A One-Hour Security Delay: Prevents unauthorized changes, giving users time to remotely lock or wipe their devices.

Additional Security Options
Other noteworthy features include:
  • Blocking USB connections while the device is locked to prevent unauthorized access.
  • A Safe Install System that scans and verifies apps during installation to protect against malware.

Reporting Errors and Bugs in One UI 7 beta

To provide feedbacks and errors on One UI beta program, open the Samsung Members application and choose "Beta Feedback>Send Feedback". To ensure relevant log information is included in the error report, submit the report within 3 minutes of encountering the bug or error, and do not terminate (swipe away) the Samsung Members application until you are notified that the report has been sent. This can take up to 5 minutes.

Making UX or any other suggestions

To provide UX or UI-related feedback, such as usability or feature suggestions, select "Beta Community > Suggestions". Note that the " Beta community " is only available and open during the public beta period.

How to withdraw from the Beta program?

1. To withdraw from the Beta Program, you must apply for withdrawal through Samsung Members application on your device. ("Settings > One UI Beta Program status > Withdraw" menu)

2. To remove the Beta software, perform a rollback to the previous release version, using the Smart Switch PC Version on your computer. The rollback resets the device and removes data generated during beta testing.
