Openai introduces SearchGPT in ChatGPT competing with Google and Microsoft.

Openai on thursday announced that ChatGPT search will now be available in ChatGPT which will now compete with popular search engines like Google and Microsoft Bing. Google had integrated Gemini into their search engine and Microsoft had Co-pilot Ai in Bing. Which enabled Gemini and Co-pilot to provide upto date and realtime answers from the web. ChatGPT was far behind because it depended on it's training data from 2021 to 2023.

According to OpenAI's blog, ChatGPT can now search the web in a much better way than before. You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more.

How it works and to use it?

Getting answers or information from the web can be quite a struggle. Sometimes you may have to jungle between multiple sites before you get what you were looking for. Now with SearchGPT, you will not have to. It will automatically find the info on the web and give you the answer together with all the sources for refrence.

Ask ChatGPT a question in a friendly conversation way and it will choose to reply with the information from the web even providing with realtime and upto date answers. ChatGPT will also  go deeper with follow up questions and the chat context will be used to provide more relevant answers. Or you can manually choose to search the web by pressing the blue web icon and it will search the web and provide you with answers from the web.

Chats now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more. Click the Sources button below the response to open a sidebar with the references.
