Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Launches The First Tri-Foldable Smartphone!

 

Just shortly after Apple launched iphone 16 and 16 pro in its "Glowtime" event, Huawei unveiled its new foldable Smartphone, Huawei Mate XT Ultimate Design. Unlike most foldable smartphone, the Huawei Mate XT ultimate Design is set to be the world's first tri-foldable smartphone which opens like a trifold brochure or booklet.

Display

With three foldable screens, Huawei Mate XT ultimate design features a singular 10.2" display 120Hz LTPO 

OLED display when fully unfolded which is equivalent to tablet size and has a resolution of 2232 x 3184 pixels. When it is partially unfolded into two screen pane, it unveils a 7.2" display with a resolution of 2232 x 2048 pixels. When fully folded, it unveils a 6.4" display with a resolution of 2232 x 1008 pixels which is like a typical one screen display. The case is a like typical regular smartphone case but with extra flips to cover the extended panels or screens.

Processor and storage

Huawei did not revealed their processor during it's launch nor display it in it's official product page. However it is believed to be running on on a Kirin 9010 chip, which is running on their latest Pura 70 flagship smartphone series. The device is configured with 16GB RAM and it comes with 256GB, 512 GB and 1 TB of storage.

Software and AI

The Huawei mate XT ultimate design will be running on Harmony OS 4.2 and will get upgraded Celia AI assistant running on the Pangu Large AI model. Users will be able to access the following features:

• AI Senior Editor: New voice editing features that understand natural languages and offer excellent content creation capabilities.
• AI Info Consultant: Uses split-screen mode to answer questions and extract summaries from long articles.
• AI Translation Expert: Send the document to Celia and it will translate the full text easily and at once. It also opens the original text on the side for accuracy.
• AI Photo Editor: AI Image Expansion that automatically enlarges the image. There are also AI Removal and AI cloud enhancement features

Weight and Dimensions

As anyone would expect with a smartphone featuring a 10.2" display the phone is heavy. The mate XT ultimate design is heavy weighing 298 g and has a thickness of 12.8mm when fully folded and 3.6mm when unfolded at it's thinnest point.

Camera

The Huawei mate XT ultimate design gets an impressive triple array camera housed in a octagon bump. It features a 50 Mega Pixels main camera with variable aperture  of f/1.4 to f/4.0 which allows enough light to produce quality images. It also features a 12 MP f/2.2 camera ultra wide angle camera and a 12 MP periscope camera with  x5.5 optical zoom. It also has a 8 MP front selfie camera.

Battery and Charging.

As massive screen display smartphone, it comes with a massive battery of 5600 mah battery which is divided into three models to power up the device which are thin as 1.9mm. The smartphone device supports up to 66 W wired USB-C charging and a fast wireless charging upto 50 W.
