 Apple unveiled it's 16th series of the iphone on September 9th in it's "Glowtime" event alongside it's  other products airpods 4, airpods 2 pro, airpods max , apple watch series 10 and watch ultra 2. Pre orders for iphone 16 and 16 plus starts on September 13 on friday and the phone will hit the stores on September 20 on friday.

New Action Button

Both Iphone 16 and Iphone 16 plus are both getting action button which in last year was reserved for Pro models as was seen in Iphone 15 series. The action button is a fast track launch button to your favorite features. You can set the action button to launch flashlight, voice memo, silent mode and more. You can also set up Shortcuts to open an app, run a series of tasks, or change actions depending on the time of day or your location.

New Camera control button

The new camera control button is the biggest new physical upgrade on all Iphone 16 series model. It is on the right side of phone below the power button. One click opens the camera while long pressing starts a video recording. One press when the camera is open takes a photo. The camera control button also supports various gesture features so you can zoom and adjust exposure as well among other usefull things by just using your phone.

New A18 Chipset

Both Iphone 16 and 16 plus gets the latest apple bionic chip that is A18 chipset, two steps jump from last year Iphone 15 which got A16 bionic chip. While Apple hasn't revealed the Iphone 16 and 16 plus Ram capacity, we assume it is 8GB ram an upgrade from last years Iphone 15 6GB Ram. This is because we believe that a 8GB ram is required to support the new Apple Intelligence that will come out in October with beta ios upgrades.

Set To Receive Apple Intelligence in October 

One of the most anticipated features of Iphone 16 and 16 plus is the new powered ChatGPT powered siri, text summarization, writing assistant and generative image creation. The Apple Intelligence is set to bring Iphone 16 series in competition with other rival phones like Google pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Vertical Cameras for Spatial video capture

Both Iphone 16 and 16 plus have vertical aligned rear cameras to allow for spatial video capture and photography.

"Big boost in battery life"

While Apple hasn't disclosed the Iphone 16 battery capacity, they say the phone will receive a big boost in battery life. Comparing to last year Iphone 15 which had 20 hours of video playback, now Iphone 16 will have 22 hours of video playback.
